As part of the Pocahontas commemoration events in Gravesend on 21. March, St Andrews Arts Centre was filled with Rainbows. Brownies and Guides to celebrate the craft skills of the Virginian tribal people. The girls made Bead necklaces and bracelets: Feathered head dresses and stencil painting throughout the evening. Stories from their folk law were told by Liz and Brian Colley and songs sung. A candle burned all day to symbolise peace and unity and candle lamps were carried in a procession around St Andrews Gardens as the sun sank.
