Silk River Project
Gravesham Borough Council is working on a new project with Kinetika, an organisation who is delivering the international Silk River project. It’s being run in India and the UK and focuses on communities living along the Rivers Hooghly and Thames.
10 locations have been identified in each country with each developing their own 10-mile walk to showcase their town. The ultimate aim is to achieve a 100-mile walk by the end.
Each community that has been chosen along the Thames is being paired with a community in India which sits on the River Hooghly. Gravesham Borough Council has been matched with Murshidabad, which is in the east of the country.
